ISE 555 - CREATIVITY AND INVENTION

Phin was a mobile app designed to improve users' happiness by giving them opportunities to do small activities throughout the day that would contribute to their overall well-being. We were inspired by Thaler and Sunstein's book Nudge on how society can be better structured to improve happiness in the long run, and how our minds work in unpredictable ways. For instance, given $20 to spend, people are happier if they spend it on someone else rather than themselves. We thought that by posing nudges throughout the day to do small good deeds, we could nudge them towards a happier life.

Throughout the course and though a lean startup class, we created a business model canvas for our product and interviewed various stakeholders en route to our final conceptual design, which consisted of a class pitch and interactive mockup of the app.
